Fetherings have stiff, feathery ears that sit on a similar line to that of humans. They generally face outward and are sensitive to sonar. Fethering heads can have extra scales, feathers or beads as variations. Their sight is usually on the poor side so many rely on their hearing for guidance.
All fetherings have an identifying (unique) feather on their body called their home feather, most often within their tail. Their feathers are their pride, and they like for them to be groomed and pretty. There are also feathers that attach from a jewel on their chests, fanning out.
